The Hoffmann Company began with a single house—Stuart Hoffmann’s. In 2001, Stuart sought a rare builder; one that could design and create an addition befitting the style, scale, and character of his historic home and neighborhood. He found it in Chris Hamilton and Todd Fisher, owners of Dovetail Craftsmen.

After completing the Hoffmann house, the three collaborators wondered if their passion for preservation was, in fact, an opportunity. What if someone designed and built period-inspired homes that fit into Atlanta’s historic neighborhoods? What if the houses could keep neighborhoods vital by offering amenities today’s families expect? They were determined to find out.

With the vision, the designer, and the builder in place, they needed one final asset. A like-minded person who could find properties ripe for the Hoffmann touch and sell the resulting masterpieces. As luck would have it, they found precisely the partner they sought in historic intown residential realtor, Kellum Smith. With the final piece of the puzzle in place, The Hoffmann Company was born.
