Building isn’t just what Todd does for a living; it’s part of who he is. His father, a Vermont builder for more than 40 years, raised Todd to understand the craft. At the tender age of 8, Todd began helping his father, learning all he could during school breaks and summers.

After graduating from the University of Vermont in 1989 with a Bachelor’s degree in business, Todd worked in the computer industry. After 5 years, he returned to the craftsmanship he loved. Soon after joining a local renovation company, he became their lead project manager. When he met Chris Hamilton, the two decided they could improve the business of home renovation and created Dovetail Craftsmen to prove it.

One of their clients, Stuart Hoffmann, was so impressed with their work, that he approached them about joining him to form The Hoffmann Company.

Todd is the kind of perfectionist every person wants working on their house. And every Hoffmann home has Todd’s distinct fingerprint on it—in the fit and finish of every detail. It’s a trait he learned from his father, a master builder who continues to craft homes with his son.
